Vince & I went to the 9:15am church service this morning, although I thought it started at 9:30am. We got there supposedly early at 9:20am, to find out we were 5 minutes late. But it was a good service. We then went to Brasserie Ecosse for their Sunday brunch. It was $17.95 per person, which is pretty expensive compared to the Marriott's $14.95 brunch, but we wanted to see what all they had. They have excellent chefs that prepare very upscale foods. We were not disappointed.
The website said they had it from 11am - 2pm, but they really started around 11:30am, so we had to wait a bit before it was ready. And oh boy, was it worth the wait! I'm not sure I'll remember it all, but I'll try:
scrambled eggs with cheese & bacon in them
crepes with cream cheese folded inside with blueberries on the side
french toast
cheese grits
an entire roasted pig that they pulled the pork & roasted potatoes to go with it
red cabbage
roast beef with rolls
salad with several dressings to choose from
bean salad with Indian looking flat bread
chocolate fondue with strawberries, pineapple, and marshmallows
melon balls (3 types)
cherry tart
chocolate tart
huge jumbo shrimp
Everything was soo sooo good. Something about the eggs & grits were really good. And the sauce they put on the pulled pork was fabulous. Vince loved the shrimp & roast beef. We had 3 or 4 trips to the buffet each. I'm worried it won't last long because not many people were there, so everyone needs to go try it out.
